furniture: douglas thayer

“Through comfortable proportions and clean elements my work exists quietly and peacefully within its surroundings”

Douglas Thayer creates furniture from the hills of Western Massachusetts that combines reclaimed local wood with concrete and metal. With a concentration on benches the Wood is salvaged from pickling, wine making – even a small portion of the Coney Island Boardwalk (nails included). Contemporary, sustainable and timeless, the strong and bold benches can be used both inside and outside. With a long standing commitment to sustainable design and production his pieces are made to heirloom standards and have been exhibited both at home and abroad.
