furniture: tortie hoare

wood and leather furniture by tortie hoare
Whilst it’s the process of boiled leather discovered and applied by UK designer Tortie Hoare in these pieces that grabs the attention, it’s the combination of old techniques with new results and the creation of environmentally conscious, handmade furniture that grabs ours. Through their combinations with wood the pieces instill a beautiful, natural aesthetic, both functional and artful. Deservedly winning designer of the year at the Birmingham Fair in 2011 has encouraged the recent graduate to go on and pursue leather work further, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
