wood design by miles and may

“This dedication runs deeper than environmental consciousness. Its about sourcing the right material for the right design, and most of our material can’t be bought at a lumber yard.” – M&M website

Miles and May is based in the Finger Lake region of Upstate New York. Brandon and Amy Philips have been making furniture for over 14 years, demonstrating an ability to stay ahead of design trends and giving the company a maturity that has allowed them to immerse themselves in their local community. With 90% of their wood reclaimed, recycled and non-commercially sourced they pay acute attention to exposing the woods character and matching it to their designs. But it takes more than furniture to complete their story, and the company’s home in the Cracker Factory, a 65,000 square foot space, half devoted to furniture manufacturing, half devoted to artistic and community events curated by their non-profit 3 stories, is testament to what really makes them great.
